Purpose

with every breath we take

our message becomes brighter

the love we share for those who fall

we shed tears for the lives lost

and pray that we can find lives lived

no matter where they have been

the universe sends its message

to bring harmony within each person

if only all the shooters knew

what horrible warning they unload

yet they are the tools of anger and hatred

instilling violence within more hearts

than the pleas of the parents of fallen children

we are at war in our streets

in the world around us, close and far

and it is the hope of every human

that we can live in harmony

bringing better days to open our eyes

our purpose is to live, to show everyone

that love is, in fact, the answer
