The goblins and princesses are gone from the streets
The air is clear, sky is bright blue
Remaining leaves in the trees quiver on the breeze
We renew our dedication to Life and Light
Allow the peace of the day to float over us
Yet, other places know no peace
They haven’t the time for trivial costumes
They only know that they have no clean water
And fireworks in the air are something awful
Not like the ones that make us say, “Oooh,” and “Ahhh.”
For most of us, all we can offer is prayers to our God
We have no power to alter their fate
So pray we must and pray we will
That those who have sold their souls to the devil
Are looked at in the light of day
And meet with their just deserts
Learning to life and let live
