The Best

All things new erupt in spring

The heat of summer helps them grow

Autumn risks the rest of time

Winter brings the end of things

So the cycle comes and goes

Life is fragile, life is sweet

Ready for the lift of emotion

Giving, taking, wandering, waiting

So the life of each person goes

The good, the bad, the peace of it all

We can be blessed with harmony

If we look to the heights of love

And understand that each being

Is doing the best they can

Invasion

Eyes following your every move

Waiting in every corner you go

Supposing to be friendly, kind

But having an overtone of creepy

How does one evade the gaze

That sneaks up and moves in on you

As if there were some reason 

To be in your way, saying, “hello,”

Not having a reason, as you believe

The bit of disconcerting presence

That suggests that you be fearful

What?  Why? Who is this stranger

That takes and makes such confusion

But the hands don’t tremble

The heart refuses to beat faster

And, perhaps, there is a wee bit of anger

Flooding through the mind today

The Moon

Higgety, piggety, the moon is a sphere

Loppety, moppety, we drink its light here

Even beneath the shining orb

We can expect nothing as we absorb

The vibrations of energy in sound and light

Raise the veil, the promise, the chant

For this night,all we desire enters our sight

We must only fare well as we get what we want

When the sun comes up, we are sure to find

The perfect will to open the mind

And understand our power, the Universe

Draws nigh to provide what we rehearse

Bring us, O Great One, our fondest dreams

And allow us harmony in all it seems

Everything

Those not with us anymore

Look down from heights above

They see and know what’s in store

They shower us with love

We may not see them everywhere

For they are on a different plane

But we can feel their tenderness

In places where they’ve lain

If they could send us messages

And I’m sure enough they do

They’d send their love and the best

For all our endeavors, too

They are not on some floating cloud

They’re close at hand, just not loud

And so it seems we can share 

The highlights of our day

Not to make the time go faster

But to know we’re on the way

To touching with their heartfelt joy

For that is what they bring

The light, the love, their everything

Everything
