Bringers of Light

I can hear the angels breathing
As they close in all around me
Their song enchants my heart tonight
I see the Light growing brighter
I draw my strength from the Light
I reach out to the angels
Some heavenly being guides my steps
My words flow as a pristine stream
Bringing gifts of love an hope
The truth wells up inside me
I know I touch with the divine
Miracles are bound to happen
I walk in strength and confidence
I can hear the angels breathing
As they close in all around me
Their song enchants my heart tonight
I see the Light growing brighter
I draw my strength from the Light
What a joy the Bringers of Light give me
How close I am with all creation
I know the beauty of the Universe
Walks silently beside me forever
I can hear the angels breathing
As they close in all around me
Their song enchants my heart tonight
I see the Light growing brighter

I draw my strength from the Light

Solitaire

The garden path is rough-hewn stone
It runs along the mountainside
Sheer cliffs at its edge
A rope fence to protect the traveler
The odd tree grows gingerly from the depths
Below the path and into the fog
That rises from the waves far below
I trudge along the path carefully
My pack on my back as I seek the lighthouse
Far at the end of this finger of land

Where water meets earth and sky

Green Leaves

Green leaves
Like tiny tambourines
Rustling in the breeze
Keeping the beat of the wind
And all the while sparkling
As the sun glints off their faces
These trees surrounding the pond
With its tiniest of ripples
And the occasional jump of a fish
Or the resident muskrat
Swimming, bisecting the water
Not bothering the little swimmers
Who make bubbles and waves
With their laughter alone

A Smile

I step forward
But the sand slips away
I bend to catch my fall
But my feet fly up above me
I stretch to find a hand hold
But my hands fumble in the air
A nightmare, maybe,
Life for some who need our help
Differences take us by surprise
What we can do, you all can do better
Hold your hands, lift you up
Let us walk along together
Differences disappear
When we look for the heart

A smile is a smile is a smile

On The Way

I open my eyes in the morning
Off the bed, I go
I see the scattered hitch pins
Forever, I now know
That each pin tells a story
Of growth and breath and love
Recovery of the silent time
Awaiting the white dove
Whose feathers, pure and shiny,
Are a lesson to be told
The simplest intuition
It can never become old
For love’s the reason we fly high
The gift we’re given in Spirit
Trust and truth and honor bound

We’re meant to gather all of it

Order

all things in their places
winning hand of solid aces
birds walking in sand leave traces
things we love fill empty spaces
vertical lines make for order
in our closets, in our marching
horizontal lines lend to nature
sunrise, sunset, forward thinking
how our day becomes a garden
skipping along the walk, the wall,
lifts us up when hearts are hardened

with forgiveness unto all

What We Need Today

There are people who cry
There are protestors marching
So many angry these days
I donĂ¢€™t know who they blame
Yet we all know the name
And the world is in mourning today
Keep your eyes on the eagle
Its head is now bowing
For the whole world is watching
Wondering where this will go
Our image is failing today
Come dear ones and friends
We must make our amends
Touching truths and our pride
Wishing harmony guides
Us in union unbreakable

That is what we need today

Wee Hours

In the wee hours of the morning
a small idea forms that flies
like a gnat, but nicer,
into the night sky.
It races up toward a sliver of moon
and caresses the mist of morn
as it hovers over the pond.
A gift, that will make itself known
soon enough, as a point of light,
leaves a trail as it climbs higher.
Birthed on this night, in this place,
this child does not cry, but sings.
Let us all be aware of the inner world,
for, to forget it, leads to ever stumbling.

Coming Together

Coming together like never before
Meeting of the minds
Hands across the water
Each of us making a promise
To support each other
To uplift each other
To give the best we can offer
Amazing connections growing stronger
Like the best of springtime
When new births express nature
And the renewal of all good things
Let it not be said we don’t care
As we travel the future road

And carry our gifts, one with the other

The Tree

Standing on the hillside
Twisting, fully clothed in green
Limbs stretching out in the sides
Brevity in its statements
Of how and when and why
Uplifting the view of many
Protecting, loving, engaging
The silent thoughts of all
Joined by song, whispers,
Evanescence
Fluorescence
Making all life supreme

And blessed with joy
